Urban forest landscape after its final phase
So many buzzwords for a community as well planned as this so I will focus on my part- the horticulture!.. and I will say this is the direction for design of multi-family urban communities in our city. Affordable units integrated with luxury, park-like open space, diverse landscapes and diverse people! This the the kind of community I can get behind and hope to see more of!
Our focus was to restore the property to a forest like setting and choose plantings that will endure and reflect the diversity of the community, so it’s more of a horticultural museum with over 100 varieties of plants(!) with a heavy lean toward natives.
My favorite part of the design is the expansive avenue of London Planetree along the road front.
Further we focused on planting hardwood trees to provide shade and canopy into the future. Other trees of interest include-Redstone Overcup Oak+Emerald Avenue Hornbeam+ Millstone Japanese Pagoda Tree
Congratulations to Abode for such a brilliant and refreshing design/construction and for being so great to work with.
